October Parish Council Meeting
The meeting will be held in Lakeview Village Hall on Tuesday 16th October at 19:30.
Wilstead and Wixams Community Art Group
It’s that time of year again! We are getting ready for our annual Art Exhibition on Saturday 10th November 1000-1600 at Wilstead Village Hall. Needless to say, club members are beavering away and producing some magnificent and interesting new pieces of artwork for the show.
This year we hope to be joined by visiting artists from other art groups, because we have now linked up with ‘Bedfordshire and District Art Groups & Societies’ which gives us contact with 24 other art groups in the region. With a bit of luck, some of them may come and exhibit with us.
Anyone who creates artwork in its many forms is welcome to come and join us at the exhibition by either hiring a table at £12 to display their wares, or by allowing us to hang individual paintings on the stands for £1.50 (or £3 for being included on our stage display).
In previous years we have had wood turners, jewellery makers, glass painters and all sorts of other artists, in addition to picture painters displaying their skills and wares at our annual exhibition. We hope to welcome these artists back and perhaps encourage more to participate. The more the merrier.
As ever, visitors to the exhibition come in for free and have the opportunity to enjoy a lovely lunch at a very modest cost. Visitors will also have the opportunity to buy that unique hand-crafted gift they have been looking for as a Christmas gif,t at a cost less than they would pay on the high street. Alternatively, they could just have a nice time mooching about enjoying the artwork.
There is lots happening at the exhibition and each year it just gets better and better.
