DESCRIPTION:Over the last 2 years there have been multiple sets of proposals\, from the master developers for Wixams\, to modify the ‘Section 106’ agreement for the sports and leisure facilities to be built here. Last year the application was put in front of the Wixams Joint Development Control Committee (WJDCC)\, but it was rejected by the committee. This was mainly due to the strong response from the community asking for changes to be made and due to a lack of engagement with the community. \nThe developers\, now Urban&Civic\, have made some changes to their plans and have now resubmitted their application. You can find the details on the Central beds Council website: \nDetails of Planning Application – CB/25/01354/SECM \nUrban&Civic are holding two engagement events on the same day on Thursday 8th May. This is your chance to see their proposals and to speak to their team about them. DESCRIPTION:The residents group has been running regular residents’ meetings to address specific topics and issues affection our town. This has been mostly about the doctor’s surgery and other planning issues. The next meeting will be all about crime and anti-social behaviour. \nFor the September meeting there will be three guest speakers from Bedfordshire Police: \n\nThe new Police and Crime Commissioner\, John Tizard.\nInspector Russell Goldsmith\nSgt Sarah Cluff\n\nThe Wixams Joint Action Group attended Wixams on Tuesday 20th August and will be attending the meeting too. They’ll be set in the foyer and available to engage with residents. \nTuesday 3rd September\n7 to 8:30 pm\nLakeview Village Hall\n\nFrom 6:30 the Wixams Joint Action group will be available in the village hall foyer to meet residents\, hear feedback and answer questions.\nAt 7pm the main meeting will start in the hall. We have PCC John Tizard and Inspector Russell Goldsmith giving updates on their plans for Bedfordshire and the issues in Wixams specifically. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and highlight the things which have affected you and the community.\nThe meeting will finish by 8:30 and the representatives have been asked to stay around until 9 to speak to residents directly. The JAG will members will still be around too.\n\nWith so many issues in Wixams we need residents to come along and show support\, things can only improve if we work together as a community.
