Music 4 Memory

Are you living with dementia? A warm welcome awaits at Tibbs Dementia Foundation’s weekly Music 4 Memory group in Wixams. They meet Friday mornings from 10:00 to 11:45 in Lakeview Village Hall (starting Friday 31st Jan), it costs £5 per person. They meet to sing songs old and new, play instruments, dance and share poems. Led by a qualified and experienced music therapist and supported by their wonderful team of volunteers who ensure tea and a friendly welcome. Wixams Vixens WI – Giving a modern voice to today’s women

A relaxed, fun young WI with ages ranging from mid 20’s to ‘it’s rude to ask’. Meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 7.45pm until 9.45pm in the Swan Room, Lakeview Village Hall. You don’t have to be a member and it is not obligatory to join. Each meeting is only £5 for non members or guests, and previous meetings have included gin tasting, chocolate tasting, making Fascinators, Christmas wreath making. Meetings are just as likely to include wine (attendees are welcome to bring their own) as it is to have tea and cake!

Wilstead & Wixams Community Art Group

A very friendly group with members of all abilities, each individually creating pictures with a wide variety of mediums. There is a joining fee of £20 and a charge of £3 per session. People of all ages and ability are most welcome. Your first visit is free to see if you like it. Teas & Coffees are free and are included in the session charge. Their meetings are on Mondays (except for public holidays) throughout the year in Wilstead Village Hall from 2pm – 4pm. For further information please contact Michael:

Little Stars

A toddler group which meets on a Friday 10-11:30am during term time in Lakeview Village Hall. The group is run by Wixams Church and there’s a suggested donation of £2.

Sports & Fitness

Wixams Walkers

A weekly walk for about 1 hour within the Wixams area in a friendly atmosphere. Meets on Bedford Road in front of Seasons Garden Centre, every Saturday at 10am. Please visit this page for more information or just turn up to take part.

Linking movement with breath to improve flexibility. Weekly classes for adults on Tuesday evenings – 8:15pm to 9:15pm at Lakeview Village Hall. Daytime classes also available in other local villages. Please visit or email for more information.


A new fun enjoyable karate club opening locally to Wixams. The classes consist of learning karate, fitness, mind and body awareness and self defence in a fun enjoyable environment, suitable for children from 4 years old upwards and adults of all ages. Clubfit and Tone

Weekly classes on Wednesday evenings – 8pm to 9:30pm at Lakeview Village Hall. A combination of a cardio workout, where the lights are down low, and glowsticks are in hand, and a  strength workout, using body weight and dumbbells, all to the latest and old school dance music.
